Job Description

Nokia's Quality and Process Development (QPD) unit drives industry-leading and consistent consumer-oriented quality. The SW Quality for MeeGo Devices team is looking for a SW Quality Manager to work with the MeeGo Applications and UX team in Ruoholahti, Helsinki. The Application and UX team is responsible for the user interfaces and applications of MeeGo devices.

In this role you will be expected to bring visibility to quality status and risks while supporting and coaching the applications and UX development teams in setting and meeting quality targets. You will also support the applications and UX development manager in ensuring bandwidth is available to keep quality in sharp focus. As SW Quality Manager it will be up to you to promote quality culture and a disciplined SW development process as well as help ensure the success of customer and product programs. Other key tasks will include participating in sprint and increment planning, reviews and retrospectives and contributing to quality improvements at the MeeGo Devices level.

To be an ideal candidate for this role you have 6-12 years of hands-on working experience in large software projects, knowledge of Agile SW development principles, and relevant academic qualifications. You also have a genuine appreciation for the importance of quality in support of the consumer experience, time-to-market and productivity and a clear grasp of the motivational and practical factors that affect software quality.

Practical knowledge of open source software and the communities and practices of OSS development will be highly appreciated along with knowledge of Maemo/MeeGo or Linux. To succeed in this position you must be capable of engaging highly professional people from diverse cultures and achieving goals by influencing through networks built on trust and respect. In our international organization fluent written and spoken English are a must.
